There are many ways you can come alongside students to help them secure the future they want for themselves. Gifts of time, money, and resources are all valued avenues for contributing to student success.
VOLUNTEER
Thank you for your interest in volunteering in the Richmond area schools. Communities In Schools of Richmond partners with Richmond Public Schools and Henrico County Public Schools to support area students with resources, programs and services that aim to help students be more successful in life.
Now more than ever, we must reimagine public education and find new ways to create equitable conditions for learning for ALL students, with students at the center, surrounded by a caring community with access to all necessary resources.

Stock Gift
Donating stocks is an easy way for you to make a donation to CIS. Please send us an email for detailed instructions or guidance on how to transfer stocks from your brokerage or investment account to CIS.
Your employer may match gifts of time and dollars. This is a great may to leverage your support for greater impact. Contact your employer for organizational information!
In-Kind Gifts
Food staples, clothing, and school supplies are some of the many items CIS has on hand when kids are in need. Contact Louie Glasgow to learn more about how you can support a local school.
CIS of Richmond receives Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) credits through the Virginia Department of Education. Gifts of $500+ are eligible to receive up to 65% of the value of the gift in state tax credits. For more information about NAP or to reserve credits, contact Suzanne Keeley.
We are proud to have received Guidestar’s Platinum Seal for Transparency, with more than 88% of the CIS operating budget is allocated to programming that directly serves kids.
